Google Powered Search on Pillows and Pancakes

For the longest time we were using a simple MYSQL search for our site search. It didn’t do a great job.

We have just rolled out a new search for our site that is powered by Google.

The results are accurate helping our users find what it is they are looking for.

New mini project

Paul, one of the founders, lives in Collingwood Ontario. Collingwood is a stones throw from the Blue Moutain ski resort. Chalet rentals is a business that he has had some exposure too. B&B Site Hacked!

I came across a site today that is blocked by the Google ToolBar. Google says the site is an ‘Attack Site.’ This is what it looked like.

I clicked on ‘Why was this site blocked’? And this is what Google told me.

The morale of the story is to check your sites with Google WebMasterTools and use the Google Tool Bar. http://www.google.com/webmasters
